Accessibility
This page describes accessibility controls that are on the Failsafe website. It is not a formal audit, WCAG certification, or legal accessibility statement.
On-page controls
Accessibility settings, in the footer of these pages, opens a full-screen panel on phones and on larger displays. You can:
- Change text size to 100, 125, 150, or 200 percent. The site uses rem-based type so layout can grow with that choice.
- Switch to higher contrast colours based on the same ivory and ink palette.
- Reduce motion, which turns off the pinned scroll animation and the moving USB model, or follow your device setting.
- Reset those choices to their defaults.
The panel covers the whole screen so the controls are not cut off, including on short phone heights. You can close it with Close or Escape. When it opens, keyboard focus stays inside it and returns to the control that opened it when it closes. The page behind it cannot be used until you close the panel.
Keyboard and alternatives
A skip link at the top of the page moves keyboard focus past the header. Dialogs can be closed with Escape or the Close button.
How it works can be moved through with the step buttons and, on a keyboard, with arrow keys, Home, and End. If you prefer less motion, or if JavaScript is off, the first hero explanation and the still photographs remain readable.
What is saved
These choices stay on your device. If you have accepted cookies, they can be remembered in local storage. If you have rejected cookies, they last for this visit only. See Cookies and Privacy. Nothing is sent to a server from these controls.
